HELLENIC AEROSPACE INDUSTRY S.A. and DASSAULT AVIATION signed today a co-operation agreement for the development of the Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV – NEURON) under the scope of the Joint Venture established by France, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Greece.

Leading European aerospace companies participate to this six-year development program that include the: French Dassault Aviation, Swedish SAAB, Italian Alenia, Spanish CASA and Swiss RUAG.

HAI’s participation to the development of defense programs is within the scope of the Hellenic Ministry of Defense policy, which is focused on attracting high technological added value work for the domestic defense industry.

The UCAV program involves advanced technology, which is expected to mold future developments in the defense and aerospace areas.

Upon completion of its participation to this development effort, HAI will have obtained substantial design experience and developed the necessary ability to participate to similar programs in the future. In addition, the company will have better positioned itself as a modern and reliable design authority business unit of the aerospace field.
