27-04-2007 : THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA IN HAI

The Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI), Greece’s largest & defense and aerospace company, had the honor of hosting at its industrial site in Tanagra, His Excellency the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abul Kalam, accompanied by the Indian Minister of State of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energies  Mr. Vilas Muttemwar and other official delegates, on Friday the 27th of April 2007.

During the visit Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had a meeting with HAI’s Chairman of the Board Mr. Kyriakos Linakis, the Vice Chairman Mr. Panagiotis Papadakis and the Chief Executive officer of HAI Mr. Tassos Philippakos, as well as other company’s officials. The HAI executives had the opportunity to comprehensively inform the President of India, about HAI’s capabilities, ongoing projects, prospects and future plans.

Following the meeting, the President of India and his delegation were given a tour to HAI’s facilities where they had the opportunity to see and be briefed on HAI’s aircraft activities, Electronics, Satellite applications and telecommunications systems.
During the visit the President of India thanked HAI’s leadership for the provided hospitality and the information about company’s activities and pointed out that:

“This was a great opportunity to be informed about the capabilities and strong business prospects of HAI the largest aerospace & defense company in Greece. I believe that there are many opportunities for business cooperation between HAI and the aerospace and defense companies of India”  

HAI’s Chairman of the Board Mr. Kyriakos Linakis expressed his appreciation and admiration to his Excellency and said that he is been honored to receiving him and his delegation at HAI’s Facilities.

HAI’s CEO Tassos Philippakos said:
“It has been a great honor for HAI to host one of the most significant leaders worldwide.
With his Excellency we had the opportunity to present HAI’s capabilities and our company’s prospects for future cooperation with Indian counterparts”.
HAI’s CEO also stated that “The leadership of the company would like to seriously consider the opportunity to be participant in fulfilling the goal stated by the Presidents of Greece and India to expand the trade activities between our two countries to the level of 1 billion euros by 2010.

The President of India was also accompanied by two members of the Indian Parliament, as well as by the Ambassador of India in Athens Mr. Bhaskar Balakrishnan and many other officials of India and Greek government.
